Blood Donor

The Blood Donor Program is used to identify suitable candidates to donate their blood to other patients in need. This program will depict the qualifications needed and the proper procedure when handling a blood donor and their donation.

If you are interested in having your pet participate in the Blood Donor Program, please review the qualifications and disqualifications below. If your pet is qualified for the program, fill out the blood donor program questionnaire here.


Qualifications

Weight >50lbs May donate 450ml
30-50lbs May donate 250ml
9lbs Max of 40mls
10lbs Max of 55mls (in 60ml syringe)
Demeanor Good temperament or light sedation is okay Good temperament and sedation needed
Vaccines DHLPP
Bordetella
FVRCP+C
Preventions F/T / HW

Blood Work Needed
  • Flex 4 (Annually)
  • Profile (Every 6 months)
  • CBC (At every donation)
  • Blood type (At initial donation / pre-screening)
  • FELV (Annually)
  • Profile (Every 6 months)
  • CBC (At every donation)
  • Blood type (At initial donation / pre-screening)

* Proof of purchase will be a receipt purchased from somewhere else or medical records.

* The dates and amounts must match in order to prove preventative care is UTD.
